Disciplinary, Match Protest and Commissioner Determinations

Players Kobe Barker, Raymond Smith and Dael Redmond (South Gawler) have all been found guilty of the Level 1.3 offence “Use language that is obscene, offensive or insulting and/or making of an obscene gesture”.
Each player has been given a two (2) days’ suspended sentence, which will be applied to any further proven reports of behaviour during the 2026/27 and 2027/28 seasons.

Willaston Cricket Club were found guilty of a breach of Clause 3.1 of the Association By-Laws, exceeding the number of permitted replacement players in a two-day match. The relevant match (A5 Grade v Angaston, 7th February 2026) was awarded to the opposititon.

Angaston Cricket Club found to have repeatedly breached the 'Guidance on Permits Approved' clauses found within the Player Permit Policy & Process (Overage Permits for Junior Competitions). Three Under 12 Division 1 matches were awarded to the opposition.

Player Martin Gallasch (Light Pass) found guilty of the Level 1.3 offence “Use language that is obscene, offensive or insulting and/or the making of an obscene gesture”. A suspended sentence of two (2) playing days was accepted, that will be applied to any further proven reports until the conclusion of the 2026/27 season.

Player David Mapstone (South Gawler) found guilty of two (2) Level 2.6 offences of “Use language that is obscene, offensive or of a seriously insulting nature to another player, official or spectator”, and one (1) Level 3.3 offence of ‘Use language or gestures that seriously offends, insults, humiliates, intimidates, threatens, disparages or vilifies another person based on that person’s race, religion, colour, descent, national or ethnic origin, disability or gender.”. Cumulatively, a ban of twelve (12) playing days, with a further (4) playing days as a suspended sentence to be applied to any further proven reports prior to the conclusion of the 2026/27 season.​

Player Benjamin Washington (South Gawler) found guilty of the Level 2.6 offence of “Use language that is obscene, offensive or of a seriously insulting nature to another player, official or spectator”. A ban of three (3) Playing Days and a further two (2) playing days as a suspended sentence that shall apply to any further proven reports prior to the conclusion of the 2026/27 season was accepted.​​

This resulted in a ban of three (3) playing days, with a further 2 playing days to be suspended until the end of the 2026/27 season, which will be applied to any subsequent proven reports.

Danny Kaye (South Gawler) found guilty of two Level 2.6 offences - Use of language that is obscene, offensive or of a seriously insulting nature to another player, official or spectator. This is language or gestures which are directed at another person. D. Kaye received a six (6) day penalty, with a further three (3) days suspended until the end of the 2025/26 season.

Eudunda/Robertstown found to be in breach of the relevant By-Law regarding correct registration of players. Jack Mosey received a penalty of four (4) match days, the Club fined $1,000 with a further $1,000 to be suspended until the end of the 2024/25 season, and the infringing players (Corey McDean, Tyson Richards) shall not be permitted to play within the Barossa & Light Cricket Association for the duration of the 2023/24 season.
